About the Book
SHOTS FROM SPACE presents a new look at Tibet and the Himalaya Mountains. With 258 photographs taken by astronauts, this book provides and out-of-the-ordinary view of the Earth. One begins to see the landscape defined by watersheds instead of man-made lines drawn on a map and assists in understanding the geography of the region.

Bought my first camera, a Canon FTb, in 1974 when I went to Nepal for the first time. For most of the last 40 years I have been working with nomads in Afghanistan, Bhutan, China, Mongolia, Nepal and Tibet. Although I still use a Canon F-1 manual camera, I increasingly find the photos on my iPhone to be quite satisfactory.
