About the Book
I first discovered Anglesey back in the 1970’s after some friends moved to the island to live; I was a visiting guest who decided to stay. There followed four very happy years of making this island my home and it was with some reluctance that I eventually moved back to London to pursue a career in music.
Over the next twenty five years that music career gave way to a photographic career and in 2001, on my fiftieth birthday, I treated myself to a well-earned break renting a tiny fisherman’s cottage overlooking the beach at Porth Nobla. I was smitten once more by the island's magic and within six months had sold up and moved back to the place I felt was home.
Since then I have built up a substantial collection of images from around this beautiful isle and especially along its coastline. I’ve always had a fascination with the sea and love nothing better then to wander along the cliff tops or to go paddling in my sea kayak around its shores.
I make no apologies for the selected images chosen for this book, which is somewhat bias toward the south side of the island, as this is where I live. If I see a storm gathering or an amazing sunset about to fill the sky, I can be set up and ready to shoot within minutes from my front door.
As the title reads, this is my personal view. So I hope you enjoy this collection of images from around the coast of Anglesey as much as I enjoyed making them.
