About the Book
The transparent and vitreous quality of water is manipulated using several techniques to create an obscure image. When I combined water with an inorganic substance like gasoline or an artificial beam of light, the mixture produced a photograph that transcends reality. For the duration of the project I photographed both found occurrences and I created chemical reactions that will display the effect. Organic textures, reflective light and a spectrum of color all inspired me to distort the viewer’s familiarity and their expectation of habitual forms in photography. In this book, I have constructed a series of images that convey a certain meditative quality. The experience is paramount to the cerebral response that is traditionally found in a photograph.
