About the Book
KARSKI LONDON PRESENTATION by Peter F. Krogh Former Dean of The School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University JAN KARSKI SPENT MOST OF HIS LIFE AT GEORGETOWN. AND THOSE WERE THE MOST PEACEFUL, FULFILLING AND HAPPIEST DAYS OF HIS NOBLE AND LEGENDARY LIFE. I HAVE OFTEN SAID THAT GEORGETOWN WAS BUILT BY TWO TRIBES. THE JESUITS AND EASTERN EUROPEAN REFUGEES. JAN HAD A FOOT IN BOTH CAMPS. FATHER WALSH REACHED OUT TO JAN AND ADOPTED HIM. MAKING HIM A SON OF GEORGETOWN FOREEVER. JAN FOR HIS PART WAS ONE OF THE BRIGHTEST STARS IN THE FIRMAMENT OF THOSE WHO CAME ACROSS DURING AND AFTER THE WAR TO FIND A HOME IN AMERICA AND AT GEORGETOWN. HE REPAID, IN FULL MEASURE, FATHER WALSH’S ACT OF FAITH IN HIM. THAT MARRIAGE HAS RECENTLY BEEN SHOWCASED IN A BOOK COMPOSED AND PUBLISHED BY ONE OF JAN’S MOST TALENTED AND DEVOTED FORMER STUDENTS, CAROL HARRISON. IT FEATURES CAROL’S PHOTOS OF JAN AND OF GEORGETOWN AND REMEMBRANCES OF HIM FROM FORMER STUDENTS. FOR THE LEGION OF KARSKI FANS, THIS BOOK WILL BE TREASURED.
From Lidia Piechocka Warsaw, Poland: Thank you very much! We are honored to have your photos of Dr. Karski. I envy you that you had the opportunity to meet him. Your pictures have soul.
