Following World War II the Claremont Speedway resumed on Friday October 18, 1946 with its traditional program of Solo Motorcycle and Sidecar events. Several more successful meetings were held at the Showground venue. Then on Tuesday December 31, 1946 a new era commenced with the first appearance of a troupe of five eastern states Midget (Speedcar) drivers. They stayed in WA for several months and attracted large crowds to the Claremont track. This publication beings you the previously unknown story of that first post war season of racing at the famed Claremont Speedway. The newspaper reports of the day have been copied word for word, along with the complete race results.
