Jack Wilkinson, a painter and philosopher, taught at the University of Oregon in Eugene 1941-1968 and then Louisiana State University and died of a heart attack in 1974. A close friend of Buckminster Fuller, Wilkinson could also lecture for 3-4 hours in his painting class and completely captivate his students with his far ranging intellect.
