About the Book
Since 1947, the Mercury Cleaners sign has been a beacon on 16th Street in Sacramento, but in early 2014, its fate was in doubt. Documentary photographer Joan Cusick followed the nine-month journey of the rescue, renovation and return of this vintage neon sign, thanks to the work of the Capital Area Development Authority and Pacific Neon Company.
