About the Book
A photographic essay of the village of Rainhill which is situated close to the city of Liverpool in England. Famous for the historic locomotive trials in 1829 in which Robert Stephenson's 'Rocket' won the 1st prize and therefore was the forerunner of rail locomotion throughout the world. However, in addition to the railway and the old village itself, the attractive countryside surrounding the village and the pleasant urban environment around the village, has been captured by the author, in photographs that echo the colour and mood of this scenic and historic locality.
