About the Book
The story of a young Mormon missionary assigned to serve in the Samoan Islands in the mid 1890's. This was a time of civil upheaval and war. The German battleship, Adler, patrolled the coasts and shelled villages opposed to their views. It was a time when rebel soldiers would raid the villages and steal pigs, chickens, and produce gown by the villagers. It was a time when Silas was left along for days at a time while he struggled to learn the language where little help was available to a lonely farm by from Springville. Utah.
