About the Book
This is the story of a now disused railway branch line that once ran a useful service between Marlesford and Framlingham in Suffolk, serving that part of the east of England. It ran in the days when cars were a luxury, opening up the countryside to people who had never left the villages they dwelled in, allowing them to travel for the first time, whilst also making possible the distribution of local produce throughout the country. It was once a godsend to many, now but a scar upon the land, but to call it so is a sad inditement of something that has been replaced by motorways filled with traffic and pollution. This book is therefore about a much loved railway line that once existed, and the photography is about tracing that once upon a time line.
