These are photographs of New York City Ballet stars Robert Fairchild and Tiler Peck, who were married last June 22. 2015 Robbie and Tilers love story inspired me to capture iconic images of a true Ballet Romance who's legacy will live forever. They had been friends, partners and colleagues for more than a decade, first as teenagers at the School of American Ballet (she was 13, he was 15), and then as members of the City Ballet, where they often danced together as principals. But after all those years of being together constantly, much of their first year of marriage was spent apart: Mr. Fairchild was in Paris and then on Broadway, starring in “An American in Paris,” for which he has been nominated for a Tony Award for best performance by an actor in a leading role in a musical. Ms. Peck, meanwhile, was in Washington preparing another musical, “Little Dancer,” which is being directed by Susan Stroman — a show that Ms. Peck said she hopes will come to New York. While that possibility was being discussed, Ms. Peck was back in New York to dance in the City Ballet’s winter and spring seasons.
