About the Book
In big cities you are always in public, yet you are invisible. You are exposed from all sides, yet no one looks at you. You feel you can cry, yell, puke, sleep, suffer in public—display any emotions—they will remain invisible. No one notices or cares. With this series I want to show that I do notice and care. Every time I enter the subway in NYC, I feel privileged to see people's most intimate, authentic, and vulnerable moments. I see them listening to themselves, dreaming, smiling, thinking, praying. I feel intrigued and connected.
I recognize my own emotions in theirs.
And I use my iPhone to make them visible.
