About the Book
I was a soldier in the US Army in II Corps in Vietnam in 1967-68. In spite of the horror of the war, I found the people to be amazingly friendly and resilient. I felt very much welcomed. I promised myself to return one day. In 2009, I kept that promise and did a 12 day tour. I realized my first impressions of Vietnam were true.
This book contains photos from today's Vietnam. It also contains comments and notes of interest regarding Vietnam's history, culture and people.
It is my hope that this book helps to replace some of the misconceptions and negative images that have permeated our society regarding Vietnam over the past 60 years.
It is time to move on.
