« Vitória, A Cidade Sol » is a photography collection composed in three volumes about the city of Vitória. Capital of the state called Espírito Santo (Holy Spirit), Vitória was founded in 1551. Lusted by Indians and Europeans during the first half part of the sixteenth century, the town has been called as Vitória in memory of an important battle won by the settlers against the autochthones. Each volume is in context with different periods of the city and the pictures aim to reproduce virtually three artistic currents from the beginning of the 20th century until today. The second volume of this trilogy is dedicated to the most important municipality of the metropolitan area of Vitória: « Vila Velha ».
