About the Book
'Journeys in African Zion' presents the 2008 and 2009 Concordia College Duda Chair in Religion lectures, with photography by the author. Part One explores the unique rituals associated with the Ethiopian feast of Timkat (the Epiphany/Baptism of Christ). Part Two elucidates the annual pilgrimage to St. Gabriel the Archangel in Kulubi, Ethiopia, attended by 300,000 and marked by a thousand infant baptisms. The author spent five weeks in Ethiopia in 2008 researching these topics. The book includes a Bibliography.
