About the Book
(To read the text on photo pages while you are previewing the book, right click on and 'zoom-in' )
The book is themed around the celebrated Japanese Cherry tree blossoms. The pictures were taken in spring of this year (April 2009).
The splendid Cherry tree is delicate and vulnerable to unkind weather. The ephemeral blossoms only last for about two weeks before withering and falling to the ground. The cherry blossoms give us a well-timed reminder once in a year that life is transitory and time is really precious.
In this book you will find glimpses of the annual Washington DC cherry blossoms festival that celebrates the Japanese culture and heritage. 'Hana-mi’ a term used in Japan means observing the flowering cherry.
