About the Book
Polar Bears gather in and around Churchill, Manitoba, Canada late October to early November to wait for the ice to form. When it begins, it happens quickly and the bears are gone, on the hunt for the winter. But while they are in the vicinity of Churchill, they can be observed basking on the snow, walking around, sparing with each other to gain their spot in the hierarchy and sniffing around curiously where people are or have been. It is great fun to watch them! This book is a record of one such trip to encounter the Wapusk (Cree for Great White Bear) and other flora and fauna near the Arctic Circle.
