About the Book
"In December 1999, just before Y2K and the end of the world as we knew it, I moved away from Livingston Parish," and with this sentence Brandon Hayman, Louisiana artist and photographer, pays homage to the parish that formed the backdrop to his childhood. Using black and white photographs coupled with personal essays, he captures the essence of a parish that is both abandoned yet alive, revisiting the places of his memory and casting light on the shadows of the Louisiana that once was while viewing it through the lens of today.
