About the Book
Between 1880 - 1889 the Victorian government defended the southern entrance to Port Phillip and the city of Melbourne with a complex of fortifications designed specifically to defend a system of electrical minefields. The forts were further developed in a series of upgrades that continued until 1942 - 1945
