About the Book
In this book, the author presents an essay on skins, folds, hapticity and visuality, along with a collection of images, inviting the reader to perceive and appreciate the transparencies, porosities, crossovers and interminglings that emerge through the touching and parting of the folds, to discover underlying interconnections and derive other meanings. Skins and folds serve as the unifying metaphor in perceiving the notion of haptic visuality—where the eyes can touch and the skin can see, and we can find pleasure in looking and seeing.
