Another sold out performance for Emerald Ballet Theatre!
An underwater adventure with a veritable deluge of movement and color--mermaids, ocean waves, a prince and princess on their wedding day, a sea witch with her escort of eels, fisherman, and colorful sea creatures. The Mermaid, an original two act ballet in EBT's permanent repertoire, is based on Hans Christian Anderson's fairy tale. Audiences filled the theater to see The Mermaid Saturday May 30, 2009 at the North Shore Performing Arts Center in Bothell.
This production spotlights the wealth of talent in our ever-growing school. Company dancers inspire our students to show dedication and artistry beyond their years. sets, props, and exquisite costumes compliment the efforts and talents of EBT performers.
As our second season comes to a close, I am humbled and grateful for the endless support we receive from organizations, sponsors, and volunteers, but especially from the families that have chosen to trust EBT with educating their children in the art form that is so dear to me. A wonderful network of dancers and their families join teachers in making EBT a special place to be - Where dancing hearts are nurtured, and bodies honed Into Instruments of strength and beauty.
