About the Book
Born in 1950 in Fulham, Geoff Idle left school at 16 to pursue a career in football. He began as an apprentice at Chelsea, and would later make his way through the often turbulent world of English non-league football, including spells at Folkestone Town, Bexley United and Gravesend & Northfleet. This honest, funny and insightful memoir takes you on a journey through the 1960s and 1970s as Geoff experiences the thrilling highs and excruciating lows of being a professional footballer.
