About the Book
"As a painter who loves photography, picture-taking started out as a way for me to create reference materials for paintings, has grown to be a media that I find quite fulfilling and challenging in itself.
The constantly changing patterns within the restricted space of a swimming pool stimulated my creative spirit. Underwater, on quiet Florida summer mornings, I find a minimalist wonderland, with the stripped down aesthetic ideals awash in subtropical light. The resulting photographs playfully flirt with Op Art, Minimalism and Geometric Abstraction with an emphasis on transcendentalist levity and boundary-dissolving luminescence. In place of New York Minimalism's hard-edged industrial materialism there is an embrace of joyfulness that comes from diving into a sun-drenched pool."
