About the Book
Mendling is not just an architecture. As a marine consortium, the design of Mendling is investigating a balance between nature and human beings. The concrete that built the building is composed by raw concrete with local soil pigment. The kumiko technique structure evoke people’s interest of opening widow and door to enjoy nature and help Mendling boundary a artificial environment to protect today’s marsh and plants for the future. Visiting Mendling is a series process from natural nature to artificial nature, and from artificial nature to natural nature. People never leave nature when they stay in Mendling. Instead of as a host of the nature or hide into the nature, Mendling is an concept to make the building be a part of the nature, be a protection of the nature, and be a preservation of the nature.
