About the Book
August 2016 saw record breaking rain fall in south Louisiana. On the 11th & 12th of August, an astounding 35 inches fell in the Denham Springs/Baton Rouge area. This same huge amount of rain fell to the north, up into Mississippi. As that water flowed south, the Amite River just could not contain it. In less then 24 hours, the river roser above the 29 foot flood stage to crest at a record breaking 44.5 feet. This book is an attempt to capture a small amount of this epic disaster in photographs.
