About the Book
This collection is the result of a four-year project that started with a trip to the fog-enshrouded Grand Canyon. Since then, the author has traveled to over twenty-five destinations within the United States attempting to capture one shot that truly displays the "truth" of that place. Whether it was northern Maine's woods, Utah's deserts, or Virginia's mountains, the light had to be just right...
Within the book's 108 pages is a stunning variety of photographs that capture our country at its best: Vistas of our national parks and historic sites, intimate portraits of animals (both wild and captive) and views of people in both ordinary and uncommon situations.
Shooting both in color and black and white, the author has captured life in America as it appears to him. The photos are an intimate portrait of how he sees the world around him, and how diverse and unique the United States truly are!

I started shooting four years ago and enjoy the natural world and all it has to offer--photographically speaking. You can usually find me out before dawn on weekends on some remote trail looking for that one special, usually elusive, shot. My first volume of photos, "Elusive Light," is a compendium of pictures taken between 2004 and 2007. It is primarily a book of pictures taken at various national parks and historic sites. My goal is to visit every national park in this country and capture that "one shot" that tells the tale of that place...
