    About the Book

    Edit

The cover (front) story is about the response I received to the launch of “Milt’s Magazine: Hardcover, horizontal & no text” as well as the launch of “Visual Memoir No.1” (back cover). www.blurb.com/books/798834

These publications raise some questions about the nature of magazines.

The blog, www.magCulture.com authored by Jeremy Leslie from London has a post “What is a magazine?” that has some answers. His writing is insightful and includes some fantastic links like www.losowsky.com/magtastic that points to Andrew Losowsky’s “Objects as Magazines” exhibition held in Milan.

This issue of “Visual Memoir No.2” introduces the reader to the entire book in thumbnail form, bolder use of color and more dynamic typography. The stories talk about the origin of the phrase “Do it!”, a photo portfolio called “It’ll do the job”, a Memory Wall, an article about provocative monthly calendars and “Ads Helping People” closing with “Potpourri”.

Rarely is there a verbal critique or judgment made, the reader may or may not do that on their own. We have not forgotten our mission of quirkiness, eccentricity and the irrational.
