About the Book
Leeds Through A Glass Darkly began as an exhibition for Leeds Light Night 2009 and shows a side of Leeds that is often overlooked, ignored or shunned. The images show a city in a state of flux, decaying, regenerating, hidden in broad daylight.
These photographs were taken between 2006 - 2009 and cover most of Leeds city centre and the outlying suburbs, concentrating on areas where there is a high level of urban decay and deprivation. Most of the photographs depict areas that are passed by everyday and yet are unfamiliar and, while looked at, are rarely seen.
