About the Book
These settings of the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis in A flat major are for SSAA meaning adult females. The contraltos must reach low F#, and the highest sopranos need to reach high Ab. Ostensibly in four parts the music in fact requires division such that seven parts are in progress on occasion which adds dramatically to the tension of the music. A piano part is included for the purposes of reheasal, and the works have been orchestrated for a standard symphony orchestra.
Quite distinct, and bearing no relationship to these works are the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis in G flat major for adult male voices.
