About the Book
During the last eighteen years of his life, Theodore Sizer (1892-1967), a Professor of History of Art at Yale University, designed and made 130 unique hooked rugs. Almost all were given to friends and to family members. This book is an annotated catalogue of his hooked rug creations, with photographs of 116 of the 130 rugs, and descriptions of the symbols he incorporated and his relationships to the people to whom the rugs were given.
