About the Book
“As above, so below.” The ancient Egyptians believed that the microcosm and the macrocosm behave alike. In the microphotography of acclaimed Japanese photographer Vin Kitayama, we encounter a similar awareness: the closer we view an object, the more it resembles the cosmos. Applying a lifetime of artistic creation in association with Tadanori Yokoo, John Cage and Nam June Paik to the specialized technology of microphotography, Kitayama has realized a vision unknown to those of us who use only our eyes to see.
A groundbreaking achievement in visualization described as “A mysterious appeal … a space-like world never seen before” by the Yomiuri Shimbun (Japan's highest-circulation newspaper).
