This book features a selection of photographs taken in the surrounding area of each train station on the Dorridge line leading to Birmingham. It gives an insight into unseen

or untalked about subjects which seem familiar but tell us something about who lives there. This was a daylight project, dealing with aspects of what goes on in a working day, and captures the different worlds which pass by. What it reveals in each area from ten till five is somewhere between the lines.

I have always been interested in what seems missable, and the places and people we tend to ignore. In much of my work, the idea is to give my audience the opportunity to find the 'surprising' in the ordinary, so that they question what they are seeing. I like telling stories through the lens, but not in straightforward ways, in order to convey a feeling about a place. I find that it is also possible to do the same with individuals in their familiar situations, and feel confident that I can always catch the moment.
