About the Book
'Llym Awel' is one of the oldest Welsh poems that has come down to us. It is a sequence of verses that evoke winter landscapes using the terse yet musical language of the bardic tradition. 'Bleak Hill' is an extended exploration of some of these verses, using the original texts as a starting point for improvisations and development of themes, attempting to extract some of the deeper meanings and emotions present. Every page has a specially created, original black-and-white drawing to accompany and complement the text.
