About the Book
Montclair is a wonderful community located in northern Virginia, just 25 miles south of the Washington Monument. Its heritage is distinctive in several respects, from Camp Fisher and the role the Confederate troops played in blockading the Potomac River during the Winter of 1861 to 1862, to being the first residential planned community in Prince William County.
The last 40 years have seen our community blossom into a highly desirable area of homes and neighbors. In 2009 we celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the establishment of our property owners association.
Our book has 105 pages of stories about Montclair dating back to the 1800s and descriptions of over 150 pictures; most being published for the first time.

I’m a systems engineer, retired USAF officer, and currently work for a large consulting firm supporting national defense clients. That's my day job. By night I love reading and writing about my genealogy and hyper-local history on my Mac. I've been the chairman of our local property owners association history committee for several years. This is my first public book; I've done others for family purposes. I was motivated by our community's 40th Anniversary this year to try to capture something for posterity; and the feeling of time fleeting by.
