About the Book
This book collects a number of shots made in Rajhastan in 2017. I had been in amazing Jaipur, the present capital of the state, back in 2000 - and since then always kept a secret plan of getting back to explore the longer roads that leave westward from there to the fabled forts of the Maharajas of Jodhpur, Udaipur, Bikaner, and Jaisalmer: the lands of the Mewar Kingdoms. An unforgivingly hot, dry plateau, where demography, interconnectedness and technological progress seem to be conspiring to leave behind the old traditions of mysticism, superstition, rurality, and a damning caste system. I came back with stories of life, resilience, color, and contrasts - and hope you enjoy seeing these frames as much as i did shooting them. Welcome to Rajhastan.
