About the Book
It is not very often a person gets the opportunity to be invited to prisitne valleys, mountains, and streams. I have had the good fortune of going to a place that fits that description twice so far.
Philmont Scout Ranch is the largest youth camp in the world. 2,200 Scouts and Scouters visit each year, and you can only attend by invitation.
This book is comprised of photographs taken in the northern part of Philmont, and the Valle Vidal in July of 2009. Our crew, (704-X1) from Chico, California was 10 people strong, and this is our travel log.

About the Creator
I have been photographing the landscape since 1976 when I was 12 years old. I have used a whole array of cameras from a Kodak 110 instamatic, to a Zone VI 4x5. I have been involved with the Boy Scouts of America for the past 20 years, and have a real love for the outdoors. This book is comprised of my latest trip to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico in July of 2011. The photos were taken with my Nikon D70. I had to lose some extra weight just so I could take this camera with me. As Ansel Adams said, "Always take the biggest camera you can carry".
