DeWandelaer Ancestors 1575-1945 - The Schepoes and DeWandelaer families emigrated from the Netherlands in the 16th century. Johannes DeWandelaer married Sara Schepoes. The Gansevoorts came from northwestern Germany and settled Albany; the DeWandelaer siblings married Ganesvoort siblings and finally a daughter of a DeWandelaer married a son of a Greene in 1928.
