About the Book
After settling in Ontario three years ago, we left most of our family connections back in Alberta, so it seemed only right to keep in touch with them somehow--hence this book's title, "East to West." The options to maintaining contact were many--emails, cards, letters (I can't read my own writing anymore, so that's out), texting (I don't even have a phone), Twitter and Facebook (I don't know how to use them), videos and so on.
The essays in this book serve as an alternative form of communication, much like a guided missile speeding across the country with a special message. Thus, instead of writing weekly notes about the weather and our health to our families back home, informative essays about life in Ontario seemed a better option.
We trust that our families in the west will appreciate these missiles, and we hope you do too!
