About the Book
Life changes. Sometimes it takes just a moment. Sometimes it takes a picture, or a place, or a poem. The change happens, the journey is complete. Champordutyune is Armenian for "The Journey." This is a book about a Peace Corps Volunteer's journey in Armenia. Through poems matched with photographs and photographs matched with poems, the author leads you through a journey that results in change. Good change, the kind of change that teaches us how to see the world through a brand new set of compassionate eyes.

Every picture tells a story. That's why I'm a photographer--I want to tell stories with my camera. I want to capture the moments that others miss because they're too focused on tomorrow, or too absorbed in the craziness of today. But moments happen all the time. The trick is to see them. When I carry my camera, I can see them. Whether I wander the city streets or backpack through the wilderness, if I have my camera, I notice moments, and I try to capture them with the quick clicks of my shutter. Stories really are everywhere. Writers reveal them with their words, artists with their canvases, and photographers with their images. I'm a photographer, and my vision is to capture the story told by the moment.
