About the Book
This read-aloud or early reader book is fun and colorful. Main character Wilbur Wickerwill is having fun flying his new kite when it gets snagged on a tree. He ventures into the woods to find it and gets lost!
He is befriended by a little mouse who speaks in rhymes. The smartest critter in the woods, Herman S. Mouse (the "S" stands for Sam) is the problem-solver of the forest. He elicits the help of his friend Big Rosie the elephant (with bright red toenails) to help get Wilbur home safely.
The unlikely friendship of a mouse and elephant makes this a cute story. The moral "don't venture off alone" is there, but not preachy. Check out the preview to see a few pages.

A New Mexico transplant, I am originally from the East Coast. Married to a New Mexico native for 38 years, we now permanently reside in the beautiful Land of Enchantment. Many years ago, I founded and operated a company that made specialty New Mexican foods. At that time, I published a NM cookbook, which is now out of print. Since I am an avid photographer, chronicling our adventures, it made sense to combine my photos with our delicious recipes. My husband loves to fly-fish, so we get around to some places with spectacular scenery! I hope you enjoy seeing and tasting a part of my world!
