About the Book
'Seven Million Acres / Pride of Place' documents and expands upon a 2019 exhibition of the same name at Street Road Artists Space, a participatory project which centers Cochranville, Pennsylvania and is a meditation on ways to re-understand regionalism. Residents of an area covering seven million acres, stretching from Philadelphia to Baltimore, and Harrisburg, PA and points in between have submitted photographs and meditations upon objects which have pride of place for them individually, together forming a rich mapping of the material culture of a region, and in turn presenting a way to reconsider how we think about place. With an introduction by Street Road director Emily Artinian. Editors: Emily Manko, James Smith, Carol Maurer, Emily Artinian.
