About the Book
Connecting Dots recounts a 2015 trip to the Marshall Islands through impressions and reactions to outer-island life that continues the narrative in Encounters with Rongelap 1968-1969, written by Richard Alfred Sundt (Blurb, 2019). This story is told through the lens of a visitor, covering issues such as traditional self-sufficiency and sustainability and the consequences of tourism and environmental conditions. These conditions have been reshaping island culture and their inhabitants through the years following the nuclear fallout accident produced by bomb testing on Bikini Atoll in 1954.
