DERT works with emerging designers to create unique, customized books. Each DERT book features the design and conceptual artwork created by graphic design students. DERT’s collaborative studio program partners with students at art schools to produce book products that are used for fundraising towards charitable literacy efforts. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of each book goes to the designer in support of their career advancement. DERT turns everyday people into literacy activists. Proceeds from the sale of this book help fund the donation of our specially designed children’s books to barbershops in at-risk communities nationwide. DERT’s social mission is to ensure that all children identify as readers by having access to books and being read to on a regular basis. Reading together is vital for all children through their preschool years and beyond.
