About the Book
During two decades Yuri Kosin photographed, as he said, “everything that looked at him” printing only contact prints. Later he was able to overcome the limits of material, push the boundaries of reproducing the reality and find his own artistic method. Taking photographs in various content and styles the artist had mastered the technique, which was a unique method of creating photographic works. The artist himself wrote about this: “Photography has become a way of analysis, meditation, comprehension of the world and, above all, myself. For decades I was photographing everything that looked at me, published contacts and no photos, added culture in my pictures. This is on the one hand, on the other hand there is perception of photoimage of the world, its features, philosophy, aesthetic. Finally I am”. Thus the photography had appeared which the artist defined as “transgressive”.
