Painting the souls of animals and the beauty of the land, Sandy Byers (SandyByers.com) of Whidbey Island, Washington, reflects her love of animals through paintings primarily in pastels and oil. She is a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America, the West Coast Pastel Society, the Northwest Pastel Society and a member of Oil Painters of America.

Byers' award-winning art has been recognized in numerous art publications and fine art books. Her work has consistently appeared in The Pastel Journal, most recently as the recipient of the first place award in the Animal/Wildlife Category in the Pastel 100 Competition (2011).
