Heather is a self taught artist working in many different mediums, but specializes in recycled materials including altered art jewelry, woven handbags made of recycled grocery bags, looms that you can weave your own plastic bags on and “Toppurs“, which are knitted hats that convert into purses. She also creates one of a kind silver pieces as well as glass and semi-precious stone beaded jewelry.
Heather has been doing art of one kind or another for most of her life but has been showing her work since 2003, attending many art and craft shows in Upstate New York as well as offering her wares in a select few boutiques in and around the Adirondack Mountains.
Heather has recently relocated to Valdosta, Georgia and is working on a few new lines including the Recycled plastic hand bags, woven rugs, the looms to weave them on, as well as one of a kind quilts and of course, this book.
