About
South Valley Studio is an art studio based in Albuquerque's South Valley. Owner Harriette Tsosie is a full time artist, working primarily in acrylic. She and her husband, "Cat", also grow gourds and turn them into colorful rattles for use in ceremony, as percussion instruments or to be appreciated as art objects. Cat, grows the gourds, cares for their gardens and draws. Both create the rattle designs and Harriette paints them. Harriette has published two other books. "I Have a Question and There's No One Left to Answer It," is based on the discovery of her paternal grandparents' love letters and paternal grandmother's diaries. "Chasing Identity" is a catalog of her retrospective exhibition of the same name.
