Janice Kennedy Washington is a retired Human Resources Manager who has a deep passion for storytelling. She is the author of three books, The Girl from Highpoint, a memoir chronicling her life growing up in segregated Mississippi, and a romance trilogy, No Fear in Love with settings in modern-day Paris, the Harlem Renaissance, and 1900's New Orleans. Her latest book, Ella Unbound is a partly true, partly fictionalized account of the life of her paternal grandmother, a white woman who passed for black in Mississippi from the late 1800's to the 1960's. Janice worked for the Houston Chronicle for twenty-five years. She is a proud daughter of the state of Mississippi and has lived in Texas with the love of her life, "Teddy" for the past forty-six years.
