About
Tim Rogers is a Canadian writer and photographer based in Victoria, BC. He began taking photographs in the early 1970’s learning the magic of film and darkroom printing, particularly black and white. In 2003 he got his first serious digital camera and has been developing his art in that medium ever since.
Tim has been writing seriously since the 1960s. A stint at the University of Calgary produced lots of academic writing and books as well as some non-fiction. In 2004 he left the academy to write fiction, culminating in the publication of his first novel, The Mystery of the SS Southern Cross, in 2014.
Recent books combine Tim’s writing and his photography. "Straitscapes" is a collection of photographs of the Strait of a Juan de Fuca combined with narrative reflections on the moods evoked by these images. "InfraRED Photography" is an introduction to infrared presenting an accessible, sometimes lighthearted, introduction focussed upon the creation of black and white images.
