About the Book
With her Yellow Patch series, Sabina sheds light on the multiple layers of meaning connected to the Holocaust, primarily for Jewish communities, while also offering insights for a wider audience around the world.
The series has evolved into an educational resource both in Israel and abroad. In recent years, it has served as a platform for several schools to present the topic of the Holocaust in a more accessible way through student projects, mainly at the high school level.
Having recognised the scarcity of educational materials for children on this sensitive topic, Sabina has been collaborating with non-Jewish schools in Northern Italy. Eventually, she decided to write and illustrate this remarkable tale, The Amazing Story of the Stars in the Sky and the Stars on Earth, for a young audience.

Sabina Saad, a multidisciplinary conceptual artist, was born in 1950 in Milan, Italy, to Holocaust survivor parents. She studied art and embarked on her journey as an artist in Italy. She immigrated to Israel on her own in 1969, and met Yehuda, her future husband. For two decades, they worked together on the family farm they had built with their own hands. With the decline of the agriculture sector and following the call of the muse, she returned to art at the age of 40 and took a course in art instruction at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem. She has remained an active artist ever since.
